As GenAI claims to be the future of the creative industries, this theme emphasizes the human, the “i” who makes things, and the hard work that goes into producing creative works. It also welcomes jammers to embrace the beauty of making something a little rough around the edges! It comes with the territory of making something from scratch, especially for the first time. It doesn’t have to be all hand-knit scarves and cookies out of the oven. Perhaps it is an elaborately crafted trap, or the beginning of a villain arc. We look forward to seeing whatever you make at this year’s GAMERella Jam!
GAMERella is a primarily English-language event; our keynote and general operating language is English. However, there are many French-speaking jammers, mentors, and organizers in the space over the weekend.
GAMERella is the world’s longest running annual game jam and workshop series focusing on supporting marginalized game creators and aspiring game makers. Our next edition is planned for November 15-16, 2025.

As always, GAMERella invites women (cis/trans), trans men, non-binary/genderqueer folks, 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and any others who feel they haven’t had a chance to make a game, to join GAMERella in a weekend of fun game-making November 15-16, 2025.
